WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR

The program is stage agnostic, but startups must have a functioning prototype, be a registered company in any country, and be able to show traction (PPCs/pilots with OEMs/Tier 1). At MobilityXlab we foster collaboration – between partner companies and startups, but also in multi-partner projects. We do this by creating a space and culture of openness for collaboration.

To be selected for our program, a minimum of two partner companies must vote for your solution.

FAQ

GENERAL

MobilityXlab is a collaboration hub within mobility. We offer startups a fast-track into a potential strategic partnership with our seven industry partners.

We have six industry partners that are the backbone of MobilityXlab; Ericsson, Magna, Polestar, Volvo Group, Zeekr Technology Europe, and Zenseact. They are involved in every aspect – from screening applicants to operational decisions. This closeness is what makes us unique.

Approaching a large corporation and finding the right person to talk to is not always easy. With MobilityXlab, you get connected to experts with the mandate to initiate collaborations. You also get an assigned partner contact that is responsible for the continuous progress of your collaboration – an internal champion!

Gothenburg, especially the Lindholmen area, is a brewing pot for innovation and new technology. It is considered to be at the forefront of mobility. Our location on Lindholmen Science Park lets us sit in the middle of the action, with our partners just around the corner.

MobilityXlab does not invest in your company. The goal of our program is for you to enter a commercial project with one of our partners. You keep all of your equity and gain a unique opportunity to work with industry leaders.

The official language is English.

Sustainability, both environmental and social, is a prioritized and integral part of all our partners' business strategy going forward, for example, the ambitions to build a climate-neutral car by 2030, be a carbon-neutral company by 2040, and a circular company by 2050. MobilityXlab takes sustainability aspects into account throughout the program; from when defining focus areas, during the application process, when planning events and communication, and when coaching startups.

APPLICATION

Startups that are registered companies in any country are welcome to apply. Technology-wise, you should be able to motivate why your solution is useful for our partners.

We have two application periods per year, one during spring and the other one during autumn. You apply through our website.

After application, our partners carefully select a number of startups that are welcome to pitch for our partners. To be accepted at least two of our partners need to be interested in collaborating with you. Selected companies are notified and start the program together with a joint onboarding and kick-off.

Fill in our application form with as much information as possible. The more accurate information we receive, the higher the chances of being welcomed to collaborate with our partners.

No, we welcome all nationalities.

Yes, definitely! There is no downside to applying more than once.

Clearly defining how you would like to collaborate with our partners increases your chances of getting accepted into the program.

An important part of sustainability is gender equality and diversity. This is central to MobilityXlab since gender-equal and diverse teams and companies:

- Have a higher level of innovation (due to a more diverse set of backgrounds, experiences, perspectives, and competencies, hence more and more different ideas that can be developed),
- Have a better ROI,
- Enjoy a working culture where both men and women perform better
- Are more resilient to external pressure or crises such as for example the pandemic.

PROCESS

You must have a registered company (in any country) and at least two of our partners need to be interested in collaborating with you.

One of the criteria for being accepted is that at least two of our partners want to collaborate with you. These are the ones you primarily work with. On the other hand, in MobilityXlab, you are exposed to all of our partners, and new collaborations often arise during the program.

Our collaboration process runs for six months, with the possibility of an extension for another six months.

We do not charge anything or take any equity for you to collaborate with our partners.

No. We have a few key dates that we encourage you to be present for, but relocating to our office is not expected. We do however encourage that you spend as much time as possible with us since this will help your collaboration process.
