MobilityXlab - Community Breakfast

Welcome to MobilityXlab Community Breakfast! This is an exclusive event for MobilityXlab’s portfolio startups and representatives from our partner companies to mingle with some nice breakfast, networking, and interesting conversation about AI for automotive and how startup-corporate collaboration creates innovative and sustainable mobility.

Special guests this morning are Erik Coelingh, VP of Product at Zenseact, Peter Kristiansen, Head of Business Development at Embedl, and Andreas Chatzopoulos, AI-lecturer at the University of Gothenburg.

About our speakers:

Erik Coelingh leads the Product Team at Zenseact and is Adjunct Professor Mechatronics at Chalmers University. Erik joined the Volvo Car Corporation more than 20 years ago, where he was responsible for Volvo's first application of Automatic Emergency Braking and led the advanced engineering activities for Pedestrian Detection and Intersection Collision Avoidance.

Eric's work focuses on algorithm and system design for active safety features for collision avoidance by means of warning and automatic emergency braking and steering. He also works on the design of driver support features to take over part of the driving task, utilizing adaptive cruise control, automatic parking and autonomous vehicles. His ultimate vision is to design cars that can be driven fully automatically without incident.

Peter Kristiansen is the Head of Business Development at EmbeDL, a scale-up from Gothenburg with the mission to commercialize its Deep Learning optimization engine as a highly scalable service. Peter has extensive experience in the world of agile methodologies combined with deep learning. He knows how to effectively develop cutting-edge AI solutions while maintaining flexibility, speed and adaptability.
EmbeDL was one of the pioneering startups joining MobilityXlab's first batch in 2017/2018.

"Our proudest moment was the signing of a commercial contract with Zenseact in 2021. This partnership symbolizes not only our growth but also our unwavering commitment to making transportation smarter and more efficient."

Andreas Chatzopoulos is a lecturer at the University of Gothenburg with a background in cognitive science and extensive experience in programming and development. He holds a master's degree in cognitive science and a background in theoretical philosophy and computer science.

Andreas teaches courses in AI and programming. His research interests lie in Deep Learning and Artificial Neural Networks, fascinating topics that connect well with his studies in philosophy and consciousness research.
