MobilityXlab portfolio startup brighter AI makes successful exit

In a press release, Milestone Systems announced the acquisition of Brighter AI, effective April 1, 2025. The Berlin-based technology company provides anonymization solutions for video data based on state-of-the-art deep learning technology to protect people’s identities in public. According to Milestone, brighter AI’s acquisition  “strengthens the offerings for video management software, video surveillance as a service and video analytics and fuels the company’s ongoing growth journey in and beyond security.” 

Brighter AI has been part of the MobilityXlab portfolio since 2019, when it was selected to join Batch 4. The startup quickly progressed in a Proof-of-Concept (PoC) project with Zenseact. That partnership between the companies progressed to an acceleration, and brighter AI was selected to provide anonymization to protect all personally identifiable information in the Zenseact Open Dataset.  

The exit shows the strength of the European AI ecosystem and MobilityXlab’s role in nurturing innovative mobility solutions and providing startups with the essential resources, network, and validation needed to thrive in a competitive market and achieve significant milestones.
