Sightic Analytics, a MobilityXlab portfolio startup, is bringing significant innovation to workplace safety. Their AI-driven screening technology, known as IRIS scan, is now being utilized by Volvo Cars to elevate their safety protocols.

The core of Sightic’s innovation lies in its IRIS scan, which employs sophisticated artificial intelligence to analyze subtle eye movements. This provides a fast, objective, and non-intrusive method for identifying potential signs of impairment. Trained on a substantial amount of proprietary real-world data, the IRIS scan allows companies to detect possible substance use in real-time, thereby strengthening existing health and safety measures.

Sightic Analytics was founded by Jenny Johansson and Stefanie Najafi with over 20 years of combined experience in law enforcement, including careers in the Swedish Security Service (SÄPO).  The startup joined MobilityXlab in 2022, as part of the program’s Batch 8.

Besides Volvo Cars, their technology also got the attention of Volvo Group, and together, both companies are exploring the use of AI to prevent accidents caused by drunk driving. That is the transformative potential when startups and corporates collaborate to bring future mobility closer.
