Brighter AI has developed Deep Natural Anonymization, a privacy solution for visual data based on state-of-the-art deep learning technology. The software generates artificial faces and license plates that replace the original objects. Thereby, Brighter AI empowers companies to protect the identity of individuals and to be compliant with increasing data privacy regulations worldwide, while collecting and processing camera data. This is relevant for numerous automotive use cases, including the development of autonomous vehicles, driver monitoring systems or mapping services. Traditional anonymization techniques like blurring or pixelating harm visual data and do not work for machine learning. For the innovative approach towards data privacy and analytics, the Berlin-based company was recently named ‘Europe’s Hottest AI Startup’ by Nvidia.
