MobilityXlab reaches 13 accelerations as Arbe and Veoneer announce partnership in automotive radars

Monday, October 17, 2022

Veoneer, one of the seven partners in MobilityXlab, and Arbe, a 4D imaging radar startup that joined one of the first batches of the program, have announced a partnership to co-develop radars for automotive-grade safety and rolling out autonomous functionality.

Veoneer and Arbe announce partnership in radars

The announcement represents the 13th acceleration reached by startups in the MobilityXlab portfolio since its foundation, in 2017. These results are enabled by a unique collaboration model based on the closeness to our industry partners, that are involved in every part of our organization, from screening new applicants to leading the innovation program.

According to the press release, “Veoneer will develop, market, and integrate two surround 4D imaging radars extending on Arbe’s reference designs: one long-range, high resolution, 360° sensing solution with 48x48 RF channels (Tx/Rx) and one with 24x12 RF channels. Veoneer’s patented waveguide technology will enhance Arbe’s performance metrics further by improving antenna efficiency and reducing performance variability in the manufacturing process.”

MobilityXlab’s collaboration program is aimed at startups and emerging companies seeking Proof of Concepts (POCs) and validation projects that may lead to pilots and a commercial contract. Selected startups work with our seven partners: CEVT, Ericsson, Polestar, Veoneer, Volvo Cars, Volvo Group, and Zenseact, global-game changers within the field of future mobility.
